About

My name is Nick, I have been practising Yoga for over 15 years and have been teaching for over a decade.

I hold Teacher Training qualifications with Contemporary Yoga, Cork, Ireland (dip. 200 hours), which is accredited with Yoga Alliance UK, and with Sādhana Māla (cert. 500 hours).

I have also completed the Sādhana Māla Art of Individual Teaching & Yoga Therapy Programme (cert. 500 hours) and am a member of Association for Yoga Studies.

While I am not bound to any particular tradition, I am strongly influenced by the teachings of T. Krishnamacharya as passed down to his son T.K.V. Desikachar. Central to these teachings are the understanding that each individual is unique and that therefore each individual's practice should be unique.

I am also a support worker for people with autism, a translator, a musician, a father to two boys and run a joyfully busy household with my partner Rachel.

I try and live by what is written in the Yoga Sūtra of Patañjali: give it your all and always do your best (abhyāsa) and, at the same time, don't take life too seriously (vairāgya)!

abhyāsa vairāgyābhyāṃ tannirodhaḥ

Sage Patañjali.
